Jazz

Jazz dance was developed in the early 1900’s as part of the popular Jazz music being heard on the radio at that time.  Some of the key elements of Jazz dance are syncopation and individual style along with  expression and connection to the music. Jazz Dance is exciting and edgy.  Changes happen often and are somewhat unexpected.

Jazz is a contemporary form of dance.  Often times Jazz Dance is confused with Hip Hop. The difference being Jazz Dance is built on technique.  Specific jumps, leaps, and turn combinations will be taught and expanded upon.  Dancers should master the technique taught in each level before advancing to a higher level.
